What happened
Let me start this blog by clearly stating I am neither a religious scholar, Biblical historian or anything other than a curious Christian. My faith is very strong and I am certain “we all fall short in the glory of our Lord.” That doesn’t stop me from trying to “do the right thing” whenever possible though. I am putting my thoughts on this Blog and make no claims to “historical accuracy” however, although disjointed, for the most part, I think it’s fairly accurate.
I mentioned in the “Our Story” section of this website that the early followers of Jesus (Yeshua) were Jewish. Jesus followed Jewish laws and rites and was called Rabbi for his knowledge of the rites and laws of the Jewish faith. The disciples (with the possible exception of Luke) were Jewish. Thus the first Christians were actually Jewish. That’s something I don’t recall hearing mentioned in Sunday school or Catechism but, had I thought it through, only makes perfect sense.
It was the Jewish elders not the people who orchestrated Jesus being placed upon the cross. As aforesaid, at that time the majority of “Christians” were actually Jewish.
